I chose DCMP because I have had the opportunity to work with several deaf students in my teaching career. I want to be able to afford them all of the same opportunities as any other student in my class. Through captioned media, all students are able to access technology, even though they may be unable to hear the words.
DCMP is a very new resource to me and I am still working on navigating through the site. I have only accessed a few videos at this point, but there are a variety of topics available. So far I like that the website is fairly easy to navigate, just by typing in your topic in the search box. It offers videos for many different levels of learners as well as articles.
I am able to use this website in a few ways so far with my students. I am able to stop the video at any point and ask for recognition of site words, or have students identify parts of a sentence. I can also ask students for clarification of what is being discussed and check for comprehension. Students are also able to make inferences about the visual aspects of the videos. The videos give the subject areas that they apply to, as well as offer lesson guides. I like the site because it can be used in different ways depending on the level of the students in your classes.

DCMP in your classroom
LIMITATIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS:
The website great for using with all levels of students. I think there are many ways to use the resource in your classrooms, other than just showing the video with captioning. Also I think it provides access for more students on so many levels.
The limitations that I see with this website are with students who deaf or hard of hearing and also have deficits in reading. I think it is great that they can see the visuals, but they still may not be able to fully understand everything without the language.
